          How do you secure threaded inserts?

          Mounting threaded inserts can vary depending on the type of insert and the material you are working with. Here are general steps for mounting different types of threaded inserts:

          1. Preparation
          Select the Right Insert: Choose the appropriate threaded insert based on the material and application.
          Drill the Hole: Use a drill bit to create a hole in the host material that matches the specifications of the insert. Ensure the hole is clean and free of debris.

          2. Mounting Methods
          A. For Press-Fit Inserts
          Align the Insert: Position the insert over the drilled hole.
          Press the Insert: Use a press tool or a hammer with a suitable backing to apply even pressure on the insert. Ensure it is pressed in straight to avoid damaging the insert or the surrounding material.
          Check for Flush Fit: Ensure the insert is flush with the surface of the material.

          B. For Heli-Coil Inserts
          Tap the Hole: Use a tap to create internal threads in the drilled hole that match the Heli-Coil insert.
          Insert the Heli-Coil: Use a special installation tool to insert the Heli-Coil into the tapped hole.
          Break the Tang: If applicable, break off the tang at the end of the Heli-Coil insert to complete the installation.

          C. For Threaded Inserts with Set Screws
          Drill and Tap the Hole: Create a hole and tap it to the appropriate size for the insert.
          Insert the Threaded Insert: Screw the insert into the tapped hole.
          Secure with Set Screws: Tighten the set screws (if applicable) to lock the insert in place.

          3. Final Checks
          Inspect the Installation: Ensure the insert is properly seated and secure.
          Test the Thread: Use a compatible screw to test the threaded connection, ensuring it fits and functions as intended.
