LCSS-M3-6

These standoffs ensure permanent mounting in metal sheets as thin as 1.60mm.

Stainless Steel Standoffs – Types LCSS, LCSOS

The fastener head is locked securely in a blind, milled hole and is able to handle substantial loads. The concealed-head feature allows the side of the sheet opposite installation to remain smooth.

Installation:
Must always be carried out using a squeeze action-nevr a shock loadPunch a hole in the metal sheet to the size recommended in our technical data tableDe-burring of the hole is not recommended.Apply pressure to the head of the fastener sufficient to totally embed the clinching ring aroundthe entire circumference and bring body in contact with the sheet.Insert fixing screw or bolt from side opposite to the fastener body.

What Are Threaded Standoffs?

Threaded standoffs are hollow, cylindrical fasteners with internal and/or external threads used to:

  • Create precise spacing between components

  • Allow stacking of multiple circuit boards or panels

  • Provide electrical isolation between components

  • Improve airflow and thermal management

  • Facilitate organized, professional assembly

Key Features of Quality Standoffs

Feature Importance & Benefits
Thread Integrity Precise, clean threads ensure secure fastening without cross-threading
Material Quality Stainless steel offers corrosion resistance, strength, and durability
Dimensional Accuracy Consistent length and diameter ensure proper fit and alignment
Surface Finish Smooth finishes prevent damage to components and improve aesthetics
Concentricity Perfectly aligned internal and external threads for easy assembly

Stainless Steel Standoffs: Why They're Superior

Stainless steel standoffs offer distinct advantages over other materials:

Material Properties

  • Corrosion Resistance: Ideal for harsh environments, outdoor applications, and electronics exposed to moisture

  • High Strength: Can withstand significant compression and shear forces

  • Temperature Stability: Maintain dimensional stability across wide temperature ranges

  • Non-Magnetic Properties: 300-series stainless steel is ideal for sensitive electronic applications

  • Aesthetic Appeal: Polished finishes provide professional appearance
