Quik-Tek Inserts

QT Series Inserts

The advantages:
Ideal for thermoplastic parts
Especially designed for thermal installation
Screw-locked and low-tension anchoring
High pull-out values
Efficient installation due to single-spindle,
multiple spindle or automatic machines with preheating device
Designed for thermoplastic plastics (PPS. ABS、PP etc.)

Installation:
The QT thread insert is heated to the melting temperature of the plastic.
As a result of the heat transfer upon insertion, the plastic is plasticised for a short
time and flows into the undercut of the thread insert.Upon cooling,a low-stress
interference is realised.

How do you install metal threaded inserts?

Installing Metal Thread Inserts involves several critical steps to ensure a secure and reliable connection. Here is a guide on how to install Metal Thread Inserts, including heat setting and other common methods:

Installation Methods of Metal Threaded Inserts
Thermoset Insert
Materials Required:

Metal thread inserts
Heat tool or soldering iron
Drill and drill bits (for initial holes)
Safety equipment (gloves, goggles)

Step:

Prepare materials:
Ensure that the material (usually plastic or composite) is clean and free of contaminants.
Drilling:
Drill a hole in the material that meets the specifications for the threaded insert. The hole should be slightly larger than the diameter of the insert.

Heating Insert:
Use a heat tool or soldering iron to heat the threaded insert to the appropriate temperature (usually between 350°F and 450°F or 175°C and 230°C).

Insert the heating insert:
Quickly insert the heated threaded insert into the pre-drilled hole while applying downward pressure to ensure it is fully seated.

Cooling:
Hold the insert in place until the material cools and solidifies. This usually takes a few seconds to a minute.

Check the Bonds:
Once cooled, make sure the insert is firmly in place and flush with the surface.
