How to do thread inserts?
To install a threaded insert, you can follow these general steps, which may vary slightly depending on the type of insert you are using (such as a rivet nut, or wood insert). Here are basic guidelines for each type:
1. Rivet nuts (nuts)
Materials Required:
Rivet nuts
Rivet nut installation tool (manual or pneumatic)
Drill and drill bit (for the size of the hole)
step:
Drilling: Drill holes in the material that meet the specifications of the rivet nut.
Insert the rivet nut: Place the rivet nut into the drilled hole.
Install the rivet nut: Use the installation tool to pull the mandrel of the rivet nut, which will expand the nut and secure it in place. Please follow the tool’s instructions for correct operation.
FINISHED: Once installed, the mandrel will break away and the rivet nut will be firmly seated in the material.
2. Wooden Insert
Materials Required:
Wooden inlays
Drill and drill bits (for inserting dimensions)
Screwdriver or wrench (for installation)
step:
Drill: Drill a hole in the wood that matches the size of the wood insert.
Insert Wood Insert: Use a screwdriver or wrench to screw the wood insert into the hole. Make sure it is flush with the wood surface.
FINISH: The wooden insert is now ready for screwing.
