Quik-Tek Inserts

QT Series Inserts

The advantages:
Ideal for thermoplastic parts
Especially designed for thermal installation
Screw-locked and low-tension anchoring
High pull-out values
Efficient installation due to single-spindle,
multiple spindle or automatic machines with preheating device
Designed for thermoplastic plastics (PPS. ABS、PP etc.)

Installation:
The QT thread insert is heated to the melting temperature of the plastic.
As a result of the heat transfer upon insertion, the plastic is plasticised for a short
time and flows into the undercut of the thread insert.Upon cooling,a low-stress
interference is realised.

The versatility of brass inserts

In the manufacturing and construction sectors, the need for durable and reliable fastening solutions is paramount. One popular solution is the use of threaded inserts, particularly brass inserts. These versatile components are designed to provide strong, secure threads in a variety of materials, including wood, plastic, and metal surfaces. This article explores the benefits and applications of threaded inserts, focusing on brass inserts.

Learn about threaded inserts

Threaded Inserts are cylindrical devices that install into pre-drilled holes to form strong internal threads. They are often used in applications where the base material is too soft or too thin to securely hold the screw or bolt. By providing a strong threaded connection, threaded inserts enhance the overall strength and longevity of the assembly.

Brass inserts: preferred

Brass inserts are particularly popular due to their excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, combines strength, ductility and wear resistance, making it an ideal material for threaded inserts. In addition, brass inserts are less prone to galling and seizing than other materials, which is critical for applications that require frequent assembly and disassembly.

Installation and precautions

Installation of threaded inserts can be accomplished through a variety of methods including heat insertion, ultrasonic insertion or simply using a thread tap. The choice of installation method is often dependent on the materials used and the specific application requirements. Selecting the correct size and type of insert is critical to ensuring optimal performance.

When considering threaded inserts for your project, it is critical to evaluate factors such as load requirements, environmental conditions, and the materials involved. Brass inserts are an excellent choice for many applications due to their strength and corrosion resistance, but compatibility with the base material must be ensured.
